Audience Outlook Monitor is a research program for arts and cultural organizations, offered by WolfBrown, an arts research company. Through Audience Outlook Monitor, organizations can survey their audiences about topics of interest. More information is available on this website. We encourage people of all abilities and cultural backgrounds to take our surveys, and we want to make taking the survey as easy as possible.

TAKING THE SURVEY

To take our surveys, you must be invited by an arts organization. You will receive an email invitation with the survey link. You’ll need a smart phone or computer with internet access to take the survey

Here are some options that may help you take the survey:

  • Low Vision Mode: Increases font size and color contrast. Activate this feature by clicking "Low Vision Mode" or the eyeball in the bottom right corner of the survey screen.

  • Spanish Version: You can switch between Spanish and English at any time during the survey by selecting the language or globe in the bottom right corner of the screen.

  • Downloadable Survey: Our surveys are available in English for review via download as a PDF or as a screen reader-accessible Word document upon request to Alan Kline at alan.kline@wolfbrown.com.

  • Phone Assistance: To take the survey verbally or request other assistance, please contact Alan Kline at alan.kline@wolfbrown.com or call +1.415.796.3060 ext. 701.

SURVEY PARTICIPATION

If you received a request to take a survey, it is because a cultural organization that you have visited in the past (i.e., the “sponsoring organization”) values your perspective and would like to hear from you. If you choose to participate, your answers will be combined with those from others and used by the sponsoring organization to better understand its audiences.

Participation in any Audience Outlook Monitor survey is completely optional. The sponsoring organization will have access to aggregated results through an online dashboard shared with other participating cultural organizations.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

The policy on this page refers to the survey privacy and data use policy. To see the policy referring to this website's privacy and data use, click here

To help interpret responses, all Audience Outlook Monitor surveys include some personal questions and collect some demographic information and information about your household. Most of these questions are optional.

For our non-event specific surveys, your answers will be treated as anonymous and confidential. At no point in these surveys will you be asked for your name, phone number, or email address as part of an Audience Outlook Monitor survey. However, after completing an Audience Outlook Monitor survey, you may be invited to enter an incentive drawing. These forms are hosted by the sponsoring organization and contact information will not be associated with responses to the Audience Outlook Monitor survey. You may also be invited to participate voluntarily in future research projects. If you choose to participate, you will be asked for their contact information in a separate survey. Contact information will be treated as confidential and will not be associated with responses to the Audience Outlook Monitor survey or provided to the sponsoring organization.

We also support a number of organizations with Post-Event Feedback Surveys – surveys administered in connection with attendance at a specific event or visit to a cultural venue.  A small number of sponsoring organizations offer their survey takers an option to request a follow-up contact with the sponsoring organization. Those who request a follow-up contact may then voluntarily submit their contact information. In these cases, the survey language clearly notifies you that your answers to certain questions will be made available to the sponsoring organization.

DATA STORAGE

The answers you provide will be collected and stored in Alchemer, a U.S. based survey software platform. Alchemer is committed to complying with international regulations and privacy frameworks as laid out in their privacy policy.
